Hawkeye Areal Photography System

I just got a new system for taking areal Photos. It is called the hawkeye. It is basically a kite with a motor and a ruder. It flys like my Seabreeze parachute but is easier, more stable and goes higher. it has tilt attachment and a remote picture trigger. It works well, but is a little different to fly. Sometimes it feels like it is not going to come down. It is a low wing air craft. No winds stronger than 6 miles per hour. Here are some shots i took this weekend.

Wings for Kids 09'

Another year of the River City Radio Controller's Wings for Kids. It is our local clubs yearly RC air show to benefit Cosairs for Children Charities. It is a two day event on the 1st weekend of June. It is a great exhibition of 3D helicopter and RC airplanes, war planes,speed planes and this year a jet. It is a lot of fun. The kids like the egg drop and the candy drop. This year it did not happen on the Sunday. If you are around Louisville this time next year you should check it out. Check out my latest You Tube video on Wings for Kids 09.

Getting Closed

Here you can see we are getting close to being finished. I am currently working on the calcium carbide cannon. I have tested it once in 10 degree weather. It will definitely work for one shoot but I am not sure about multiple shoots. More testing needed. I feel I am getting closer. Look at these pics.

More Tank Up Dates

Here you can see I have added a welding hop up kit that included periscopes. Also I installed metal hatch doors on the driver area, and then placed welds with millit putty. A 30 mm machine gun was placed with a removable ammo can and a 30 mm gun placed on the main body. I will be placing one by the main cannon once I figure out what I am going to do there. I installed the front and tail lights tonight. It looks really cool. Anyway I am currently making a storage box for the back of the tank. Once it is done I will post some pics.

New updates to M5 Stuart Tank

I have been working hard on my tank over the last few weeks. Cutting, sanding, gluing and mixing has gotten me even closer to the finished product. I ordered the trailer hitch and rear accessories from Steel Dragons. The trailer hitch actually works so I can pull my howitzer or WWII Jeep trailer. It will be cool. The rear accessories included working gas caps, hinges bolt heads and spill protector stuff. I also added metal railing and tie downs. I am trying to decide if I will add hooks for tools or make a tool box to mount on the back. I also added welding with an epoxy putty from Millet Putty. It looks really cool. I will post more as I get more done.

New Amazing Toy

I got this last week. It is the Blade MCX by E-flite. This little helicopter is amazing. My Blade CX2 is great on a calm day or at a nice big gym, but in my house is make it more difficult to fly. The Blade MCX is perfect for a house or office or anywhere indoors. I find it more stable and easier to fly than the CX2, and I can fly it when ever I want. It also has glow in the dark hop ups, but I have not been to impressed with them. Maybe it has to be really dark or I need to place it under a bright light for a lot longer. Anyways, I love this thing. I have been taking it to work and flying it on my down time. With the 3.7 v 120 mAh Lipo battery I get 10-15 mins. flight time. It is very durable. It can hit a wall or fall from 10 ft. up and does not damage it at all. I have been flying for almost a week everyday now and on the CX2 I would have had to replace at least 2 sets of blades by now. Any how this is a great fun product and I highly recommend it.
